Diploma in Catering and Hospitality Management

This course is designed to equip each young woman training at Pearlcrest  with the knowledge, skills and attitude that will enable her to perform managerial duties in a hospitality and accommodation establishment, and be able to work in one of the best hotels in Uganda. Please note that scholarships are available.

The course is designed in modular form;

  • Modular one covers operational skills
  • Modular two supervisory skills
  • Modular three managerial skills.

One will have to complete the three modules to be awarded the Diploma in Catering and Hospitality Management (DCHM).

Entry Requirements:
  • A – Level UACE Certificate with at least two principal passes.
  • A certificate in Hospitality from a recognized institution

Duration

The course will last 2 years. In the first year, operational skills will be covered, and in the second year supervisory and managerial skills.

Examinations

The institution will set both theory and practice papers, covering the topics that had been tackled over a period of time. For the final examination, there will be an external examiner who will be neutral as he/she will not be part of the teaching staff of the institution.
