How to apply 

You can apply for the certificate or diploma course by completing this form: 2022-23 PEARLCREST STUDENT APPLICATION FORM and submitting it to the college by hand, post or email. Good candidates will be invited for an interview.

Teaching Methodology

Following the example of the world’s leading institutions, our students attend both theory and practical lessons due to the technical nature of the courses, having the chance to deeply understand the skills and competences that make them highly employable, and to develop them through application.  The practical sessions take place in the morning under the supervision of qualified staff. Theory lessons are conducted in the afternoons.

Tutorials

On joining Pearlcrest each student is able to receive support from a tutor, a member of staff, who follows her general performance closely and is always available for consultation and advice to help each girl to achieve to her full potential and move into good employment.

Courses

CERTIFICATE IN CATERING AND ACCOMMODATION OPERATIONS

This is a two-year programme that provides students with technical and specialised professional skills to operate in several departments of a hotel like food and beverage service, food production, and rooms. Practical skills are especially emphasised while developing a range of personal qualities and attributes essential in the hospitality industry.

Entry Requirements:

  • UCE Certificate with at least 5 passes obtained at the same sitting two of which must be in Mathematics and English Language.

DIPLOMA IN CATERING AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

This is a two-year course designed to equip each young woman training at Pearlcrest with the knowledge, skills and attitude that will enable her to perform managerial duties in hospitality and accommodation establishments.

Entry Requirements:

  • UACE Certificate with at least one principal pass and two subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting

or

  • A certificate in Hospitality from a recognized institution

or

  • UCE with at least 5 credits.
